“Culture formation is generational, not birthed in a night. Generative thinking can inspire us to work within a vision for culture that is expressed in centuries and millennia rather than quarters, seasons or fashions. People in the arts work in conversation with artists of the past as they are shaping the future, attempting to produce work with enduring qualities that might in turn speak to new generations.” -Culture Care by Makoto Fujimura

“You know what's weird? Day by day, nothing seems to change, but pretty soon... everything's different.” -Bill Watterson

300 Days by Melissa Browder Beck

Everyday for 300 days (10/5/13 - 7/31/14) I painted one layer of paint over a disposable cup and spoon.

Every day I paint this object, and it doesn’t look any different than the day before. Days go by as if what I’m doing makes no impact, but in reality, what is happening to the object is a substantial change. I recently had the object with me in public and received many turning heads and questions of “what is that?” It is undeniable that this object has had a significant alteration. It is not the same anymore; in fact it is far from what it once was. I am not the same anymore either.

”Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9 NIV

“While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18 NKJ
